what programs are out there that do this, and are there any that are free??
also are there any that record the audio coming through as well?

I have been using iShowu. It isn't free ($20) but it works well and they have good customer service so it was definitely worth the money.

It recorded mic audio and system audio. You can also choose a variety of encoders and formats.
