Record In Landscape?

Is there some kind of trick to record video in landscape? I start recording in portrait and then switch to landscape but when I view the video in playback it doesn't play in landscape.

When you are recording and flip the iPhone to landscape, do you see the screen go to landscape? If it does, then it should be recording in landscape.
