I want to record speech from the internal mic on a macbook. What is the best way to do this (simplest) way to do this. People have recommended garageband but this seems a bit overkill. I just want to record speech and burn it to a cd.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I don't have the very latest version, but it's merely a matter of clicking the plus in the bottom left corner and adding a real instrument. Then I click record when I want to start recording, get my file onto the machine and export it to iTunes or wherever. :)

you could also record it in iMovie, but honestly thats a big hastle. Garageband for sure. Real simple. Good luck!
