Recorded DVDs Slow to Load

I have an application that I am running from a recorded DVD. The DVD takes over 20 seconds to mount and then over 2 minutes to load the 30 mb application. I have reports of other G4s taking 5 minutes or more to load the app. I've tried using different types and quality of media with similar results. Is there any way I can create a disk that will load faster?
