Hey guys, I wondered if you could help.

I recorded a live gig onto a 5D Mk2 with an external mic on top. I wasn't going to use the audio originally, but now that I've reviewed it I'd like to know if there is anyway to resample the audio. It is too loud and the peaks are distorted with little or no bass.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Regards.

if it clipped, youre S.O.L.

Like photography, you cant bring out detail that just wasn't recorded.

Clipping means part of the soundwave is missing.

Sdashiki is correct... Also, for future recordings, make sure you have Firmware 2.0.4 or newer, as it offers manual audio gain control on the 5D Mark II. Firmware 2.0.8 is the latest as of this writing and can be downloaded here.

When you want to record audio from a live gig like that you need to get a feed from the soundboard (which most likely will mean recording audio and video to separate devices).
