I am looking for software to record analog audio with my Powerbook (OSX) via the microphone jack.
The key, though, is to have a "running buffer" of a minute or two worth of audio (first in - first out), so that when I press RECORD, the file created already contains the previous minute or two of audio in the buffer.
I used to have a Sony MiniDisc recorder with such a feature, and it was so great to have. I would monitor the audio from radio or tv, and would be able to catch the beginning of a segment even if I didn't press RECORD in time.
Does such a feature exist on cheap/free audio recording software for OSX?
What is this feature or process called? I use the term "buffer" but I'm not sure it's appropriate.
Thanks in advance!
