iOS Recording currently playing sounds

Hi,

I know it's possible to record voice coming from the iphone's microphone, but if you are playing couple mp3 sounds at the same time in app is it possible to save that mixed currently playing sounds as mp3 or any other audio file format?

I believe i saw this kind of apps but can't find the example so i would really appreciate any input i can get on this subject, wheather is it possible or not, maybe some tips on how to achieve this or anything else.
