recording from 2 firewire video source at the same time

Im planning im making my mac a mini dvr, I have 2 sony camcorders with firwire ports that I use as a pass through to capture video from dish network, vcr and other sources and several external hard drives.... It is possible to view/capture the video in the 2 cameras at the same time in the same firewire bus?

I want to record video from different channels or sources at the same time..
