Recording from iPad app on the mac

I recently bought several apps for my iPad from Groovemaker and would like to record the songs I create onto my mac. I have the 1/8 stereo adaptor and it does record but the audio contains a lot of noise. Any suggestions?
by the way, I have a macbook pro and I have recorded the same audio with
Audacity, Garageband and Adobe Audition and all three have the same audio problem. I have also used several different patch cords to the same effect.

It has to be a setting that I have missed on my iPad I think.
Please help!
