Recording from Quicktime

Is there any way of capturing movies/streaming from quick time with out purchasing QT pro.

I managed to record before but for some reason the option to record has gone.

If it is a true streaming video, no, besides screen recording (like iShowU). If it is a progressive download you should be able to look in the Safari activity monitor and see a big file load there, hold in alt-key and double-click and it should download.

I think he means capture video from a camera.

Quicktime Broadcaster can do this for free without QT Pro, I think it's installed with the Developer Tools.
