I did a screen recording and audio recording using quicktime. I imported the screen recording into iMovie, but I have no idea how to put the audio in there. I'm new with iMovie, being more used to FCP. How do I put the audio into iMovie? Is there a certain format it needs to be in?

Not at my Mac at the moment to try it, but isn't the audio part of the Screen recording movie file? If it's separate, start a Project in iMovie with your movie file, and then drag and drop the audio into the project.

You just need to drag the audio file into iMovie. Though, since you recorded using Quicktime Player, you need convert the audio recording from a movie file (.mov) to a sound file (.aif, .wav) First, open your recording in "Quicktime Player 7".

Then, in Quicktime Player 7, go to the "File" menu and select "Export".

At the pop up box go down to the "Export" drop-down list, and select sound to "AIFF".
