Recording system audio on a mac.

I'm trying to record something that plays on my mac, and I downloaded Audacity, and Loopback, and can't get a recording from 'system audio'. I get nothing. Do I have to physically loopback the output back into the mic input?

It seems like it shouldn't be that hard...

Anyone with any ideas on how to get this done?

Try "SoundFlower" or "Audio Hijack"...

If you do go with soundflower, make sure you only download it from the github page.
