I've just started to try and record with my new Apogee duet audio interface, on my Macbook Pro, using Logic Express. Here's the problem -- I've made it so that the audio levels are about the same, yet when I record my voice and guitar, I can hear the voice loud and clear in playback, but not the guitar (it's very quiet).

I've tried cranking the audio input level for the guitar, and it gets really loud and distorted in my headphones and in the DUET, but not in the actual recording. I am confused. Does anyone have any idea of what might be going on? I'd really appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Meredith

Hi Meredith, have you checked the Maestro Control program? How are you recording the vocal? Is it plugged in as a mic input, and how is the guitar connected - via mic/line?

How do you have your inputs set-up in Logic Express? Are your playback levels both the same? Is each fader at unity? (0db)

Cheers.
