Recording video and dropped frames...

The couple of times I've tried using the built in camera on my Macbook Pro to record video, it will stop somewhere randomly and give me some sort of message like "video has stopped because of dropped frames". I've closed all of the other applications and I have plenty of room on my hard drive. I also have the latest model Macbook Pro. This happens with iMovie and Quicktime. Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this??
