I'm new here. I wish to record some recent historical events that ended up on You Tube that I wanted to record for posterity. However when it came time to record using Roxio Toast Titanium 12, I was informed that the four files were not in the format to be able to be recorded. This is the first time I've needed to do this and of course the first experience of having run into this anomaly. Any advice from experienced videographers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

for android you can use an app called tubemate. it will download the video to your phone in mp4 format and you should be able to play it from any device like a your phone or a computer. also once you have downloaded the video to your phone you will have the option to watch it as a video or just play the audio so you can listen it without the video so you can have your phone off while you listen

This Safari extension puts a download button on Youtube pages.

This one? If so, this is also needed.

It looks like this then:

For youtube just put an ss at the front of the server url. Easier to show an example:

Video on youtube:
https:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihrQU4LNtC0

To download it:
https:// www.ssyoutube.com/watch?v=ihrQU4LNtC0

Notice the ss in front of the server url? Give it a minute or so to process your request and then download.

PS I had to add the space to prevent it from turning into a video. I couldn't use <pre> <code> or <quote> tags to stop the media conversion. Any ideas on how to inline a url without it converting to a video?
