Hi there, I recently had a big problem with my lovely macbook, and the HDD had to be replaced, and i had no way to back up my files before the repair.

I had all my music and photos on a 5th Gen iPod Video, and have been able to get back the music to my HDD using TinkerTool, which is great!

However, i connected my iPod back to the computer to pull the phots off it in the same way, but before i could stop it, iPhoto synched with it, and removed all 1,500 odd photos to replace them with 8 new ones i have since added to iPhoto.

Is there any software or methods of recovering all these photos? I know it was stupid not to have backed them up previously, but I've learned my lesson now :(

I'd really love to have my photos back, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes you'll most likely be able to recover them (or most). First, disconnect your iPod from your computer and don't do anything with it until you buy some recovery software.
