I work in a very small school so we do not have an IT department that is top notch. Anyways, We had a student google something and went to the images part of the search. Well he got porn and he printed some stuff out. He then cleared the history. Is there any way we can recover that history? We have one actual image that he printed, but we can't prove that it came from the computer that he was working on at the time. What we were told was from another student and we can not just go on that for disciplinary reasons.

Any luck with this?

No time machine is not running. There is nothing really important running on these computers that needs to be backed up.

If you delete the history, does the cache get deleted as well?

I don't think it does, but in any case Safari also has a "reset" feature that will clear the cache automatically as well.

Your best bet is to run parental controls on the account.

You may also be able to view the Cookies on the machine as well, but that won't necessarily point you to who did it, just that a site had likely been visited.

And if he Reset Safari instead of just deleting the History, everything would be wiped out, or if he had "Private Browsing" enabled nothing would be stored.

For future reference I recommend SafariStand for History Flow

How can I look through the Google account to see any google search that a previous user did?

Hi, I've recently been trying to get my time machine set up, I have a working ethernet but it keeps saying i don't so I can't set up time machine. Any idea's as to how I can get it to work??

finder

user name folder>library>caches>safari>history
*this will only work if you cleared the history from safari its self
and if ⌘ was pressed while deleting

hope this works :)

Safari -> Preferences -> Security -> Show Cookies

Up until yesterday i was able to do this but now when i go into Safari-Preferences-Security show cookies no longer comes up Web Content is the last thing to come up. Please HELP!

Is it still possible to view deleted history with time machine, if the person has deleted the history straight after visiting the site? How would you know what point to go back to? Or does this not matter?

Safari -> Preferences -> Security -> Show Cookies

This worked awesome thanks! However When the list of sites (and all the hyroglyphics) are displayed, what order are they displayed in? Oldest to newest? Its seems oldest to newest, but I need to be sure... I really need to know when these sites were visited - how can I do this?
