Recover from Time Capsule without Wi-Fi

Hi all,

Following on from the drive failure ( https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1562606/ ), the drive's been replaced and Snow Leopard has been installed and the machine's up and running (yay!).

At the moment, the machine is in an office without any Wi-Fi, so my question is how can we get the backed up data from the Time Capsule using time Machine?

I've connected the TC direct to the iMac via ethernet, then opened & turned on Time Machine, but TM can't find the device.

Can the TC only be read if everything's on the same network (wifi or ethernet)?

You seem to be unaware that the TC is also a WiFi Base station so you do have a wireless network but you need to set it up first.
