i recently updated my ipod touch to 4.0 version and it deleted all my music. How can i recover all my music. If someone can help please...i would greatly appreciate it

Unless you had your music on a computer somewhere, I'm afraid they're gone forever. Well, if you had any music you purchased through iTunes, you might be allowed to redownload them if you ask Apple customer support very nicely. But music from any other source need to be always backed up on a computer, else there's no way to recover them when something like this happens.

This cannot be repeated enough. iPods/iPhones were never meant to be standalone devices. I can understand that some people don't want their hard drives "clogged" with music/videos. If that's the case, though, then burning a copy to a data CD or DVD is recommended, or better yet, transferring them to an external hard drive.
