Hi all

Yesterday I reset my Mac Mini from the OS and it bricked! I have SOS being flashed in orange from the front LED and I understand something went wrong and I'll need another Mac to revive the Mac Mini, which is not a big deal - though very disappointing.

Now, my issue is that I was on Sequoia and I don't want to download Tahoe yet. But I understand that if I just "restore" the Mac Mini, the configurator might download the latest version?

I am a bit confused as I believe the Configurator is not needed anymore as DFU restore is now built-in macOS?

Can I still download Apple Configurator 2 and drag and drop an ipsw file on the Mac Mini?

Thanks!

Thanks again - thankfully I do have access to a Mac running Sequoia so should not be a problem.

Is this issue... common? I've found a few people mentioning the same. The Mini is still under warranty, should I be concerned about anything, storage failing or was I just "unlucky"? I think I'll try resetting it again once it's back alive.

Just to wrap up the thread, the recovery of the Apple SSD worked. Actually, I revived it.
I used an ipsw of Sequoia and that worked well with no issues.
