Recover Old iPhoto Library

Hi all, i accidentally replaced new iPhoto Library on my iMac from my old Macbook. The thing is i forgot to do backups on my iMac and all the new photos are gone. The only photos i've seen in my current iPhoto is from the old Macbook. Is there a way to retrieve it? I've done a google search and mostly recommend Data Rescue. I'm very lost now. Thank you.
