Recover Photos

I hope this is in the right section. I have a Olympus Stylus 800 camera and a 1GB Fuji Xd card. Not too long ago I accidentally formatted the memory card and then took photos after it was formatted.

I would like to know if the photos can be recovered. If so what software can I use to recover them. I already tried software that claims to recover photos, but im not having any luck.

I'm using windows Xp my OS.
