Hey everyone. I'm hoping someone can help me out.

Everytime I start my Mac thesedays the trash contains a folder called 'Recovered Files' - despite the trash being empty when I shut down.

By the looks of the files they are templates, possibly from Dreamweaver;

Anybody know how I can stop this from happening?

i get all kinds of files that I used and deleted since the last restart. eg pictures from the internet that I opened in preview or a word document. i too want to know what recovered files, I'm guessing it is a safety measure if the os thinks you are not finished with a file and did not save it in time?

well in linux there is a folder on ext3 i belive that has the same thing, ive always wondered what it does tho

There is nothing unusual here. As joshysquashy surmised, it is a safety measure. You don't want to stop it. And if you read the file names, you will recognize that the file with extension .tmp is a temporary file, not a template. You will also notice that it occupies zero (0) bytes. Feel free to delete the Trash.

Just a bit of a pain in the backside having to do it everytime I boot up!

Cheers anyhow. :)

You don't have to delete the Trash every time you boot up. Lots of Mac users never delete their Trash. This is an issue only if you are short of space.

You know, I've never even considered NOT emptying my trash everytime I put something in there. Hmm.... maybe I will start to leave it full.

Every day is something new......
