Hi,
I've recovered a failing hard drive to a disk image on an external drive using the dd tool. The failing HD wasn't even mountable. My problem is that after 7 days of dd running and now that it has finally finished. I can't mount the dmg that it recovered. OS X says that there is no recognizable file system. I have tried multiple ways of mounting including hdiutil attach -noverify myimage.dmg and hdiutil attach -shadow myimage.dmg. Both still return telling me that there is no recognizable file system. Is there any way I can get the image attached in raw format so that I can use some recovery software. Unfortunately I don't have space anywhere for me to dd the image back to a partition.
Thanks,
Whit
