My macbook won't boot due to the nvidia graphics card problem. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get the data off. Do you know if apple will recover data, and at what cost? My nearest support provider is charging $60 to get the data off the drive. Is there any way I could buy an enclosure and get the data off myself?

Yes, very easily. Buy this for $7, then take out your hard drive, plug it into another Mac (or a Windows computer with Macdrive installed), and copy off your data.

You could do that. Or simply swap the same hard drive into the new laptop. No need to copy anything and no need for enclosures. All drivers included in every OS X installation.
