In a moment of stupidity, I upgraded to lion but considering how buggy it was decided to downgrade back to Snow Leopard. I had a time machine backup which, I had forgotten, excluded backup of my videos folder. After restoring back to Snow Leopard, the videos folder got wiped and I lost my videos.

Is there any tool that can help me recover those files?

Google led me to testdisk. I have not tried it but it does sound promising and it's free.
