I have a macbook pro and a macbook that are both running leopard. I have the macbook pro connected to an external hard drive and time machine backs up to it well. I have time machine on the macbook backing up to the same hard drive over my wireless network and that has been working well too.
Today the macbook's hard drive just died and i want to get some of the data that was on it from the sparsebundle created on the external hard disk using my macbook pro.
I cannot mount the sparsebundle on my macbook pro. I get an error stating that the operation is not supported on the socket. the permissions on the sparsebundle are set to nobody = read&write, everyone = no access.
I have tried the browse other time machine disks option in time machine but the macbook's disk doesn't show up.
