Is there a way to get (download) the recovery media that comes with the macbook pro? i need it asap and cant wait for the 3-4 days apple takes to send them to you...
 
Any copy of the operating system FROM A NEWER COMPUTER THAN YOURS will work just fine. Just boot the system and you'll be fine. You have to use a newer disk so it has support for your hardware.
