Recovery Mode?

Anyone know how to get the iPhone to go into recovery mode, where it shows the connect to itunes screen?

I've been trying to restore my iPhone with the restore tab within itunes, but it keeps locking up. I'm hoping if I can get the phone into recovery mode that it will restore that way.

I think it is
-hold power and home button for 10secs
-then let go of the power button and continue to hold the home button until in recovery mode
