Recycling Bin not working

Hello I have a problem, whenever i try to drag a file to the recycling bin nothing happens. I repaired my permissions and still nothing works. Any help will be appreciated. I am running 10.6.8

There is no "recycling bin" on Mac OS X. It's the Trash. The Recycle Bin is Windows.

You can't empty the Trash or move a file to the Trash
