I have a problem with my screen. There are red and blue dots that seems to appear on some colors. It is the same problem as https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/529506/. It is definitely not dead pixels because whenever I move a picture, the dots follow. I also have http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H62afsEjwZ0. It doesn't bother me so much, so if they are not related I don't really care.
I don't want to keep out any details, so some of the facts here may be unnessecary ...
It is a 2010 Macbook Pro A1278 2.4 Ghz. I have installed an SSD in the DVD-ROM slot.
- Spilled some bacardi and soda on it. The keyboard got all sticky. Can't remember if there was any problem with the screen at that point.
- Changed keyboard to a new one
- Had to resolder the fan cables because I made a mistake.
When I boot the screen looks fine when I view the apple logo at first, but then the colors change and the problem occurs.
What bothers me is that I don't know what's causing the problem. When I screenshot and view the picture on another computer it looks fine. My guess is that it's either the screen itself, the screen cable or the screen cable connector on the logic board that's something wrong with. Are there any ways to test what's causing it? I stole a picture from the other thread so you can see it. I can provide more tomorrow.
