Hello,

I've used Streamclip to make DV files of a recordings on a DVD from TV.

I have imported them to iMovie and I've noticed some slight traces of red and green in the videos. I'm currently looking at a clip of an old black and white movie where it is obvious (though not distracting) and I've seen this too when I've put such recordings on a DVD for playback on the TV with a DVD player.

Any thoughts?

Regards

Hi, thanks for responding. what do you mean by "fine detail"?

There is an L missing, quite obviously, in SMALL.

Do you get the idea?

When I upload to youtube from Final Cut Pro, I am getting faint green and magenta vertical stripes? I have uploaded via H.264 and DV Pal but still am getting this rather annoying effect. Obviously the green and magenta isn't in my cut.

A link to the video it's happening on -

It's obvious from around 28 secs.

Cheers.

Boro, i think your problem is encoding artefacts and that youtube probably not optimised for black and white, take a screen grab, pout it in photoshop and put the saturation to max , you will be quite shocked.
