After doing the Big Sur Beta install on an external disk (2020 Mac mini) and then returning to Mojave in order to upgrade the T2 chip firmware, The pesky red badge suggesting an upgrade to Catalina (which I cannot do) just won't quit.
I have tried using the following terminal command;
Code;
defaults delete com.apple.systempreferences AttentionPrefBundleIDs; killall Dock
but the Red Badge reappears immediately on accessing the System Preferences Panes (the panes window, not any specific pane).
Any suggestions on how to stop that "badgering"?

Yeah, that's the Catalina badge. It's no longer possible to remove it permanently. I try my best to ignore it. ;)

I've had that "red badge" peeking out at me for more than a year now.
Just ignore it.
That's all you can do...
