Red Flickering - 2019 MBPr 15" Vega 16

Hey everyone, just had a couple questions.

I've been enjoying my new MBP after a much needed upgrade but noticed a few things that occur time to time.

1. When activating the screensaver through the hot corners, the screen flashes red then activates the screen saver. Is this a bug in software?

2. Sometimes when waking the MBP after sleep, it takes a few moments for it to 'unfreeze' and then I can move my mouse and type on the keyboard. Is this normal?

3. Should I get AppleCare, I have until mid November?
