Doesn't look bad, although I would have gone for the real thing and there are custom ways to change the color.
So that's one of those fake iPhones, right?
Care to post pics of the OS? And are you actually going to use it as a phone?

No it's actually an iPhone 3G, and trust me the pictures don't do it justice, I just don't have a decent camera. I posted some More pics of the phone and the OS, along with the original back housing. And by the way if anyone needs some spare iPhone 2G parts let me know...

Wow. I feel stupid. I thought it was a fake because the Apple logo is backwards, but that's only because the picture is only a mirrored version.
Why do you have a bunch of iPhone 2G parts?

Because I have friends that either broke their screen or did something to the phones and no longer wanted them, so I just took them off their hands.:D

It's plastic just like the original one, when people ask I just say it's colorware, because people wouldn't understand even if I told them that it's just the back housing.
It took about an hour to do because I was really careful in taking it apart, and putting it back together. You wouldn't believe how much of the original iPhone is held together by double sided tape and glue.

Oh I know the original iPhone was a problem. I had one and tried to replace my housing but ended up messing up everything cause I couldn't take off the bits that were glued with the strongest glue ever made.

(shakes head in disappointment)... how could you honestly think it was fake, if you were to take two seconds and look what side the buttons are on you can tell it was a real 3g...

REGARDLESS... Looks GREAT .. I would love to do this to mine but 1 i dont have the patience and 2 i frankly could not do that good of a job...

WELL DONE

The iPhone 3G is the same once you get off the main board, and it actually has more screws that the original one.

I need the camera. Do you think it's the same part as the 3g camera?
If yes how much? Nice job and great patience.

OP, if you have a chance to post some pics with a camera I would love to see them, as would others I am sure.

Damn that is ugly! The iPhone doesn't look that bad though so at least you have that going for you.

I will try and borrow my friends camera to show you guys.

Cool, can you post this listing on here from ebay please?

Is it just a sticker that you stick to the back of the iPhone?

No, it's not a sticker it's the whole back plastic piece. And the link is up there^

OP: looks nice. now we can be twins.
did you have any problems as i have with the edges of the housing?

Not as much as you it seems, like I didn't have to do anything to the vibrator to make it fit because the holes where there.
