Red light coming out of my headphone port... -Macbook Unibody

There's a red light coming from my headphone jack... What is the meaning of this? o_o

The port doubles as an analog (wire) audio jack and a digital optical (fiberoptic) output. The red light gets coupled into the fiber if you have the appropriate cable and transmits the audio digitally.

i said that bad, i thought he was talking about some led light coming out of the socket lol. i thought that was a bit wierd... lol
