Hi guys,

Ill explain the situation,

I have installed a virtual machine of Windows 7 (which I hear can be related) for Uni work etc which needs windows. One day I was using my earphones and pulled them out and a red light appeared and I could not get sound. I read online to insert the headphones a few times which resolved the situation.

However now sound works fine out of the speakers but when using the earphone jack sound will only come out of one side, does anyone know what is causing this or recommend any solutions?

Would it be something to do with the Windows 7 virtual machine?

Thanks

Chris

The red light is the digital optical signal. I've read that there is a physical switch that determines whether to enable the optical signal (and in doing so silence the analog outputs).

You can try using a toothpick or other thin object and try to dislodge a stuck switch.

I had that happen to mine this past January, and I just took it in for repair. If you're still under warranty, I would suggest doing the same.
