Hi - I just recently upgraded to OS 10.13.
Now when I reboot or wake my MBP, I get a momentary solid red screen.
Slightly unnerving, very unApple. I mean when did Apple do anything with red (after the 80s)?
Small glitch or symptomatic of something larger? (btw, yes - i have been experiencing very strange phenomena since upgrading in some BIM + rendering apps....)

Thanks!

I have read reports of wake issues in High Sierra. My 2017 15" touch bar machine, the screen flickered and went greyish once coming out of sleep. I flipped out because it completely looked like a hardware issue but it has not happened again. Did some Googling and found others with the same issue.

I've had relatively little consistency with my MBP regarding the start up screen through various OSs. All sorts of flickers, delays, different startup sequences, and even double login screens, but none that can be pinpointed to hardware. The red screen however happens very early in the boot process. Hence my concern. And I've found no one using High Sierra with the same issue...

This question pops up all the time here - with different colors. Started to happen to me with 10.13 when waking form sleep or booting (usually with external monitor attached) - but hang and had to reboot. This was not present at all on 10.12 for me. Reported as bug to Apple. They acknowledged. Few updates later it decreased in severity to short flash of solid color. Seems driver issue which is confounding them. Something is initializing out of order or whatever. Seems benign for now, ignore it.
