Today I noticed a red color strip under the mute button when its set on the silent. Is it the water damage sensor gone red? I have babied the iphone and it was no where close to water. Should I take ot Apple store?

No, it's fine. The switch shows red when it is muted, and does not show red when it is not muted.

It's supposed to be like that.

Ok... that's good to know. Thanks for the quick reply.

I previously had 3GS which didn't have that red strip, so it's new piece of information.

Where has common sense gone in figuring things out?

Why the nasty, sarcastic comment? What has happened to decency, and having respect for others? Do you really want to chase away people that have questions - even if you think they are trivial, or easily solved? I don't. If you find a post to be beneath you, just ignore it, and move on.

I have noticed (in many threads) a propensity for hostility toward people that have general questions and / or complaints about what others feel are not important issues. It shouldn't be this way - this should be a place to ask questions, exchange ideas and discuss technology - without the additional side of insults...
