Does anyone else here not really like reddit ? I mean it is ok to find information sometimes but otherwise it seems to suck. Maybe I am wrong though.

I prefer the old school forums like these on macrumors!

I like the sense of permanence and community forums like MR's tend to foster. Reddit often seems like a step between a full-fledged Xenforo thing and Twitter; you get long communal threads and subforums like Xen with all the polarized bickering from Twitter.

Still, Reddit is good for a laugh.
 
Reddit is mostly just today's iteration of similar online forums that have been around for decades. They simply have different names.

Slashdot, Tumblr, Usenet, whatever.

If you choose wisely, there are some decent subreddits.

Unsurprisingly, Reddit as a whole looks a lot like the Web from twenty years ago. Heavily young white American/European male.

Some subreddits are so white that I feel like I'm attending a bluegrass music festival.
