Hey all. I've got a macbok pro and running OSX 10.6.8

Let me preface this by say that I've looked through the threads and tried basically everything before posting. I've had a redirecting issue for a few months now - happens every so often... maybe every other day to every day. It is only a handful of sites - facebook, google, gmail, and twitter. It redirects me to random other webpages (sometimes the same, sometimes new stuff) or it will say 404 not found. I have tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome - same results every time. Clearing cache usually doesn't work. Resetting Safari is usually only a temporary fix.

Many have suggested it could be a DNS Changer trojan - so I downloaded the scanner and it doesn't detect anything. I downloaded MacScan and it hasn't picked up anything either.

My system is pretty sluggish too, not sure if that is related to the issue.

I am at my wit's end. I'd honestly love to do a system wipe but I don't have the software my macook came with - lost in a cross-country move.

Advice?
