Has anyone tried this? May well be coincidence but since JB safari crashes straight away on startup... Opera is fine though..

Same here. I edited the capabilities plist though (for multitasking and homescreen wallpaper). Maybe it has something to do with that. I'll test when i get back.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one who experienced Safari crashing, Forgot I can rely on Opera aswell. :)

As above I done it to try multitasking and wallpapers.

UI lags alot with the wallpaper, transitions, etc but multitasking was actually pretty nippy. Expected a lesser experience.

Yip, although admittedly I haven't tested it after downloading the updates within cydia. I'll check when I get home and report back...

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

No beans, seems that something in the cydia updates is breaking safari!

I assume they are updates we need to actually use Cydia?

We need another way to get SSH :p

Interesting how you got that far though. After a few attempts I tried Safari as soon as the phone rebooted from the jailbreak and Safari was gone.:(

How about iPhone Explorer? Before I even launched Cydia, I was able to just hook my iPhone to my MacBook, open iPhone Explorer and just go through the file system (as root) and change the .plist file.

That might be one way to avoid using Cydia (to get OpenSSH) all together until there is a true fix.
