Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 Reverted 4.2 iphone4 to 4.1

Hello I followed the instructions from this site:

Using redsn0w downloaded from this site:

http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

....to jailbreak my already jailbroken 4.2 iPhone4.

In settings/general/about my version is now:

4.1 (8B117)


Any help on how or why this happened, as well as how to get to 4.3.3 would be great. I am trying to get the phone to a state where I can utilize find my iPhone if necessary.

Download the 4.3.3 IPSW from http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
Restore using iTunes. Jailbreak with Redsn0w.

Done! I am jailbroken in 4.3.3 now.......but.......

Cydia is a grey icon. When I try and login inside of cydia the phone goes bonkers, into multiple screens at once and a deathloop until I reset it.

I'll try restore and re jail break in the morning.

Are you using the latest Redsn0w? I believe it's 0.9.8b1? If you're using that, try using 0.9.6RC17. Basically try using a different version that gives you 4.3.3 untethered.
