Redsn0w unable to recognize iphone 3g firmware 4.0..pls help

so i have the iTunes version of the iphone iOS 4.0 firmware file. the "ipsw" to say, when i open redsnow and hit "browse" i get an error message saying

"unable to recognize specified IPSW"

im running this with the iPhone 3G. if you have any idea how to fix this it would be great! do i need to download another ipsw version of the firmware?

Try another IPSW download and make sure its 4.0 for your device and not 4.0.1

IPSW should start with 1.2 for 3G
