Redsnow 0.9.5b5-5 isn't recognizing firmware??? ios 4.0.2 ipod touch mb 2g

I downloaded redsnow .9.5b5-5 and downloaded the ios4.0. firmware
problem is that redsnow is not recognizing the firmware
i tried with multiple sources of the firmware and redsnow and it still does not work
one worked but redsnow said processing file for 4 hours
I have a ipod touch 2g mb 4.0.2
help?
any other way to jailbreak?

Try restarting both the device and the computer. I had the same issue.

i did, but it went all okay till the end where it said to hold the buttons i did that
then it said waiting for reboot fir 3 hours
my ipod touch screen is black and it doesn't show the downloading jailbreak data thing on my screen
i'm pretty sure i followed instructions
what do i do now?

Start the process over again. That can happen sometimes.

I did it over and over again, but it still does not work
its in dfu mode, completely unresponsive
but it always says waiting for reboot

Try holding down the power button and home button at the same time and see if it will startup...do you have iTunes open?

but the apple logo showed up for 4 secs, then faded to black
if I pressed the buttons again same thing, logo, the disappear

Unplug the device from the computer. Hold down the power button and home button at the same time for 10 seconds. Release the home button and continue holding the power button. See if that will reboot your device.

normal mode or dfu mode, both didn't work
I'm gonna make a video tom showing my process and perhaps you can correct me
the only thing I can think of is that maybe apple screwed up and perhaps mine is a mc and mb, but seems very unlikely

So, can you start your iPod touch normally? Just so it gets to the SpringBoard?
