Redsnow wont identify my Iphone 4 ios 5 firmware. I have deleted Redsnow and downloaded it again and the Ispw multiple times.

This is generally caused by using an older version of Redsnow. You need 9.9B5

If redsn0w is downloading the needed parts, there is no need to give it an IPSW anymore. Just go through with the jailbreak process.

Redsnow said it could not find the the .Ispw it isn't public and cant be found.

IOS 5.0 FOR THE CDMA AND THE GSM RIGHT HERE:

CDMA VERSION

GSM VERSION

These ipsw files are all for the iPhone 4 both versions.

Download either of them, and start redsnow, and point redsnow to your newly downloaded ipsw file. Thats all to it.

I'm on a pc.

Let me ask this:

Are you doing a custom restore or a full restore?
Custom restore means that you are using Tiny Umbrella and TSS server along with either redsnow or snowbreeze to jailbreak the iPhone.
Full restore means that you are using iTunes to restore.

The iTunes way can be used in many ways, i use iTunes by holding the shift key and select the ipsw, and at the same time i have TU running in the background, works for me.. Just asking..

I did a full restore and now I want to Jailbreak.

There is only Tethered Jailbreak for IOS 5 at the moment, meaning you have to use RedSnow everytime you want to reboot the iPhone, so if i were you, i would wait for a Un-Tethered Jailbreak of the IOS 5. Its around the corner i think.

Thats why i stayed on 4.3.3 and wont be upgrading yet..

Read about the Jailbreak IOS 5 here: How to jailbreak ios 5

Well i was on 4.3.3 and i saved my shsh so i can downgrade. I guess ill wait for the untethered.
