After I install and setup Windows 8.1 I would like to reduce the bootcamp partition a bit. Is there a way to do that so I can recover some space back to the Mac?

why don't you just pick a smaller size BEFORE installing and setting up windows, or have you already installed it?

if so, camptune is the only option. if you try to manually do it, chances are very good that you will no longer be able to boot one or both OSs

My plan was to install Windows 7 into Bootcamp and then install my Windows 8 upgrade. Unfortunately to do the upgrade it wants more space than I want to give. Just before you replied I found out how to install my upgrade as the main OS instead of going through all the crap. Thanks for the software suggestion.

Definitely, you should just clean install all the way to 8.1
