Reduced 2016 MacBook Pro or middle 2017 model?

I've found an offer online of a late 2016 MacBook Pro for £1,299:

The 2017 models (taking into account NUS discount) cost this currently on Apple's website:

Should I get the reduced 2016 model (Touch Bar; 256 SSD) or do I go for, say, the middle 2017 model above (sans Touch Bar; faster SSD, Kaby Lake)?

Thanks!

Looks an alright offer to me. Is the offer time limited? There's a small chance of some sort of refresh in a couple of weeks but it's more likely to be a price realignment due to exchange rates improving or a spec change (such as storage) in my opinion. I can't see there being any new models just months after the 2017 models came out with Coffee Lake CPUs containing extra cores due next year.

Depends if you want the touch bar extra ports and better cooling or not really. If the answer is no to those things then get the new one if you want those things buy the 2016

Had the same dilemma myself a couple of weeks ago, brand new 2017 or better spec used 2016. As the 2017 is identical apart from the CPU/GPU, I went for the upgraded 2016. For the same price as the 512GB/i5/8GB 2017, I got 1TB/i7/16GB 2016. No brainer for me.

Does the 2016 model have the first-generation butterfly keyboard and the 2017 the improved one? As sad as it is, this might be worthy to take into consideration as the stuck keys are a real problem...

There is no official evidence that the keyboard has changed between models. NB both have the 'second generation' butterfly keyboard, the Macbook had the first generation. See here:

I was in the exact situation a few weeks ago. Ultimately went for the 2016 model with TB for the extra ports and cooling. Performance gains seems to be minimal or non-existing for my uses.

No issues with the keyboard and I can confirm its the 2nd gen butterflyswitches on the 2016 model. The difference in keytravel for example is noticible comparing to my old 2015 Macbook.

My unit was manufactured in february this year so I dont know if anything has been changed or if I’m lucky. (Or if I will experience the same issues in the future, possibly)
