Just curious, why do you all think the standby time on the 4s has been reduced by 10 hours (compared to the 4)? Is apple expecting more GPS use due to location based reminders, or would background GPS use even be considered as standby time?

Who cares... If you actually come close to using 200 hours of standby time, you have no use for a smartphone.

op, the gps 'geo-fence' service is a good point. could be the differences in the processor as well (who knows)

There is no real world difference in standby battery life between the 4s and 4 if you do the math...


Yeah, I'm not particularly concerned about the real world difference... I'm simply curious about why the difference exists.
