I've got a wireless sennheiser me2 lavalier mic. On many occasions this mic generates a lot of movement noise - even when the person is just moving their arms whilst speaking etc.

Does anyone have any tips for reducing the movement noise other that gaffa taping the person to the chair!

I don't really want to buy a new mic - I was looking a Channel 4 news here in the UK last night and was wondering which lavalier mics they were using also..

Cheers

If the person is wearing the right clothing, you can use a credit card (I use a sample one from a credit card offer I got in the mail) and place it on the inside of the subject's shirt using the backside of the lapel clip to hold it in place. This will provide a solid backing behind the mic and prevent the fabric from moving when the subject moves.
